Meet Don Keeble
Singer-Songwriter and Poet Inspired by Life and Roots
Don Keeble is a talented singer-songwriter and poet who calls Walnut Creek, California home. Drawing inspiration from his personal journey—including meaningful relationships, the challenges of addiction and the triumphs of recovery—Don’s music and poetry reflect the ups and downs of life. Deeply influenced by his Texas heritage, particularly the culture and scenic beauty of San Antonio and Corpus Christi, his artistry carries the spirit and warmth of his roots.
Don’s musical path began early, with his debut as the little drummer boy in a kindergarten Christmas show. His passion for singing took shape in the sixth grade when he joined his elementary school choir as a second soprano. For the past two decades, Don has been a dedicated member of the bass section in the Lafayette United Methodist Church chancel choir in Lafayette, California. In addition, for the last ten years, he’s performed with Cantare Con Vivo—a renowned community choir based in Oakland.
In 2015, Don released his first album, It’s All About Love, featuring ten original Christian contemporary songs recorded and engineered by friend Dan Orvik. His journey as a songwriter continued to flourish with his sophomore album, Do Good, Be Well, Have Fun, where he delivers an uplifting message of hope and positivity.
The creation of Don’s second album was sparked in 2018 after collaborating with Dave Nachmanoff at NachVille Recording in Davis, California. Their partnership, which began after Don attended Dave’s concert in Vacaville, blossomed into a collection of new songs woven from Don’s life stories. These tracks touch on personal experiences involving his sons, a four-year-old goddaughter, his brother’s prison artwork, a treasured book from his grandmother, his great-grandfather’s historic home (now the Austin Zen Center), a vivid dream of good overcoming evil, a private lake near San Antonio, his own journey through recovery, a Marine’s wartime prayer, reflections on spirituality, and cherished memories from his childhood home on the Gulf Coast.
Today, Don divides his time between northern California—where his sons Matt and Gus live—and San Antonio, the place where his roots run deep. Through his music and poetry, Don Keeble continues to inspire and uplift listeners with heartfelt stories and a positive outlook.
